The Story Behind The Kush Girls
For as long as she can remember, Shannon Margeux has been fascinated by the way products can make people feel.
Long before she became a manufacturer, retailer, or founder, she was captivated by the excitement of receiving something beautiful—the anticipation of opening a package, the details of the presentation, and the feeling that someone had created something special just for you. That feeling would eventually become the inspiration behind everything she built.
Shannon began her professional career in the technology industry, where she worked as a Director of Marketing. There, she learned how products are built, how customers connect with products, and how powerful a product can be when it's paired with great design. But while she loved the business side of marketing, she knew she wanted to create something of her own.
In the search of something more, Shannon co-founded a designer brand distribution company that grew to distribute well known fashion and lifestyle brands throughout Canada and the United States. The experience gave her a behind-the-scenes look at some of the most successful brands in the industry and taught her how products move into the hands of customers.
When her business partner later bought out her share of the company, Shannon reinvested in a new venture: a swimwear retail chain. It was there that she discovered something that would ultimately shape her future.
While swimwear brought customers into the stores, it was often the accessories that created excitement. Jewelry, sunglasses, brooches, pins, and statement pieces had a way of making people light up. Customers would hold them up to the mirror, show them to friends, and leave feeling like they had found something uniquely theirs.
Wanting to offer something different, Shannon began designing and manufacturing her own accessories for the stores to sell. What started as a small addition to the business quickly grew into a passion. She became obsessed with every detail—from design and materials to packaging and presentation.
She realized she wasn't simply creating products.
She was creating moments.
Moments of excitement.
Moments of confidence.
Moments that made people feel beautiful.
As demand grew, Shannon shifted her focus entirely to manufacturing. She opened her first production facility in Vancouver and later expanded with a second facility in Los Angeles. Through Shannon Margeux Designs, she began manufacturing jewelry and fine metal products for retailers and brands across North America.
Yet despite her success manufacturing for other companies, Shannon couldn't shake the feeling that she wanted to create a brand that reflected her own vision.
A brand that wasn't just about products.
A brand that was about how those products made people feel.
In the summer of 2025, that vision became The Kush Girls.
Built on the belief that everyone deserves a little more beauty in their day, The Kush Girls was created to deliver the feeling of opening the perfect gift—even when you're buying it for yourself. Every piece is designed to spark excitement, start conversations, and make the person wearing it feel confident, bold, and unapologetically themselves.
From jewelry and accessories to lifestyle products, every collection begins with a simple question:
"Will this make someone smile when they open it?"
That philosophy has guided the brand from day one.
What started as a dream quickly grew into a movement. Within its first year, The Kush Girls expanded into more than 100+ retail stores across North America, connecting with customers who were drawn to its playful spirit, unique designs, and message of self-expression.
Today, Shannon continues to lead both her manufacturing company and The Kush Girls with the same passion that inspired her journey from the beginning: creating products that turn ordinary moments into unforgettable ones.
Because for Shannon, success has never been measured by how many products are sold.
It's measured by how many smiles are created when someone opens the box.
